The Broken Anchor Mystery
This is defently a must read even though its as good as most other Nancy Drew books. It is still as exciting, and mysterious and it will leave you guessing until the end. Iloved every minute of reading it and i couldn't out the book down until the mystery was solved. I defently give this book 5 stars.

Buried in Time (Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery)
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (August, 1990)
Authors: Carolyn Keene and Ann Greenberg
Average review score:

A Great Read!
This book was the second I've read of the series, and it's one of my favorites. Nancy Drew and George Fayne travel to Oklahoma to help find a thief, and the morning after they arrive, one of their information sources is found dead! Nancy and George investigate the murder while Joe and Frank Hardy are searching for a missing truckload of uranium that has been traced to Altus, Oklahoma. Nancy finds that she has a lot of suspects, and Frank and Joe have a lot of people involved in their case too. Are their cases connected? And will they find the murderer, thief, and the uranium before an even more drastic event takes place? Carolyn Keene's Buried in Time is a great read, with many guesses, suspects, and even a secret romance! This book is great for anyone who is a fan of mystery and detective stories! This is definitely a must-read book!

A really good book!
This was the first book I read out of this series. I wasn't sure if I would like it.Once I read it I was hooked on the series. The way Nancy thinks about her feelings for Frank is great. There should be more romance between them in the series than there is. I've read this book twice, and the second time I liked it even more. I would recomend this book to anyone.

The CASE OF THE DANGEROUS SOLUTION (NANCY DREW 127) : THE CASE OF THE DANGEROUS SOLUTION
Published in Paperback by Aladdin Library (01 October, 1995)
Author: Carolyn Keene
Average review score:

Great!
I'm really very picky with books... I don't like older books, they scare me. Thus, I don't like the old Nancy Drews. I don't like some of the corny ones. My favourite are these ones, the NEW Mystery Stories, like The Case of the Dangerous Solution and The Case of the Twin Teddy Bears. This was great. Not corny, and just suspenseful enough to make sure you can still sleep at night. George takes up a job at Twickham's Pharmacy, the most reliable pharmacy/drugstore in River Heights. The staff are friendly and Twickham's is the only drugstore that still delivers. George always enjoys making her deliveries to elderly Mrs. Cay... until a discovery of tainted medicine is made and Mrs. Cay is one of the poisoned victims! Nancy, George and Bess must track down the person out to kill. It's a FANTASTIC book, I enjoyed it down to the very last word.

An excellent book
I have read heaps of Nancy Drew stories and this is one of the better ones. The story line is easy to follow and has twists. It holds you in suspense right up to the end. Jemma Ferguson

The Clue of the Gold Doubloons
Published in Paperback by Aladdin Library (01 May, 1999)
Author: Carolyn Keene
Average review score:

Good book
Nancy and George join friends from a film-making class on a ship to film their upcoming pirate film. With George playing a brave female pirate and Nancy as director it's sure to be fun. That is, until a mysterious, dangerous string of events occurs, leaving the colourful cast and crew on edge and indangered. Nancy must solve the case before her time runs out!

An Excellent Book
I think that The Clue of the Gold Doubloons was an excellent book. It was challenging to figure out who the burgular really was, even though i pride myself in cracking the case early in the book. Carolyn M. Keene did a great job of writing this book by using the formula for suspense. I would recommend this book to many young girls. I also recommend The Chocolate Covered Mystery; not only because of my addiction to chocolate, but because it is also one of the excellent written mysteries that keep you waiting until the end to find out who the real thief is.

Counterfeit Christmas (Keene, Carolyn. Nancy Drew Files, 102.)
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (December, 1994)
Authors: Carolyn Keene and Ruth Ashby
Average review score:

This is a great book!!!!! :-)
I think that this is a great book to read around Christmas time. The book is about when Bess's aunt gives her 2 20 dollar bills and when Bess goes to spend them, she is almost arrested for spending counterfeit money. Nancy clears her, but soon, she finds herself locked in a case to find the counterfieters before anyone else is killed, just like her first main suspect. Nancy soon finds herself liking one of her main suspects, and that causes her to start worrying about what Ned would think.

EXCELLENT BOOK!!! CHECK YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bess is about to spend the two twenties her aunt gave her on X-mas presents when the holiday cheer takes a terrible turn. Bess is accused of forgery because the twenties are counterfeit. Fortuneately, Bess is cleared, but the mystery of who made those twenties still remains. One of the main suspects is Marco, a person in high school that made counterfeit money; but before Nancy can find anything out Marco is murdered. Nancy recieves many threatening letters telling her to get off the case. It isn't making it easier because of the fact that Nancy finds herself being drawn to irresistable , Stuart Teal, who is a main suspect! She seems to be forgetting about the possible dangers of dating Stuart, and what about her longtime boyfriend Ned? I couldn't keep this book down for one second!

Danger on Parade (Nancy Drew Files, No 77)
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (November, 1992)
Authors: Carolyn Keene and Anne Greenberg
Average review score:

Best Nancy Drew book Ever!
I have read many Nancy Drew books and I am continuing to read them. This is my ALL-TIME favorite. The whole plot may not seem that exciting before you begin to read, but once you start you can't stop! The reason this book is my favorite is because there is exciting things that keep you on your toes throughout the book - but the ending.. it's just.. FABULOUS! It's so exciting! Unlike other mystery stories that just keep explaining why the villain did what, this is action-filled. Well, what happens is.. Wait, I'm not giving it away, you'll have to read to find out! :)

It was a great book!
When Nancy and Bess get offered a behind the scenes pass to the Thanksgiving parade, there excited! Until Bes gets framed and they think SHE'S doing the pranks on the parade! Nancy sets out to help prove her innocence, and gets caught in suspician, too. Even the guy Bess likes starts ignoring her for a while...because he thinks she's really causing the "accidents"! .... This book was awesome and I would suggest anyone who likes a good mystery to read it!

Essential Chess Openings (Batsford Chess Library)
Published in Paperback by Henry Holt (Paper) (February, 1993)
Authors: Jon Speelman, Raymond Keene, and Jonathan Speelman
Average review score:

Really Great Effort !
This is an extremely nice opening book. I only wish someone would take on the job of updating it - this one was published in 1992.

The book is still excellent for a number of reasons. I recommend that you buy it if you can find a copy - it is currently out of print.

As the title suggests, the focus is on the critical or main lines of each major opening system. The physical size of the book makes it very convenient to carry along to a tournament.

The depth of the book is less than say, Modern Chess Openings, or Nunn's Chess Openings, but as I said the lines covered are the really critical "must know" variations.

Frankly, with the advent of computer databases, this type of "readers digest" approach to the opening variations makes much more sense. This book could be used to really understand the meat of an opening system. Once the particular system of interest is learned by following the main lines, the reader could later do more intensive research using the computer database.

In this way the two approaches compliment each other and the reader beneftis from the best of both worlds.

I truly believe that this book is quite useful to own, even though it was copyrighted nearly 10 years ago. Many of the main line openings shown are still very playable.

An over-the-board tournament competitor could do quite nicely using this as a study guide. A correspondance chess player would be more likely to need the added depth and up-to-date lines of Nunn's Chess Openings.

Review of Essential Chess Openings
The lines chosen by the authors to review in this book were ideal, since they eliminated excessive and unneeded information. The lines were also original, but contemporary and critical in the openings chosen. The book is one that a serious chess player would benefit from owning and using to his or her advantage. The format of this book is very nice and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this book.
